If you would like to have a natural childbirth either at home or in the hospital hypnosis can make the whole experience easier and safer for both you and your new baby.
Childbirth is a natural process, but sadly many women approach pregnancy and childbirth with fear and anxiety for many reasons. These feelings can affect the way mum experiences her pregnancy and how she deals with her labour and delivery of her baby.
Hypnosis is neither magical nor mystical and can best be described as a state of complete relaxation and concentration at one with a heightened state of awareness, induced by suggestion. Whilst in hypnosis the mind is very focused and responsive to positive suggestions given for wellbeing. Hypnosis can give mum-to-be confidence and a remarkable degree of control over her mind and body, producing a state of complete calmness and relaxation, thereby reducing anxiety and stress.
Mum-to-be is taught the art of self-hypnosis so that she has the ability to relax and be at one with her body during her labour and delivery of her baby.

At around 32 weeks of pregnancy you will be invited to an Initial Free Consultation to discuss how your pregnancy is progressing, along with your needs and expectations for the birth. This also offers you the opportunity to ensure you feel comfortable with your therapist and to ask any questions you may have regarding Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy for Childbirth.
Preferably to be attended by both mum-to-be and partner. You will both have the opportunity to discuss with your therapist and each other your expectations for labour and delivery and your partner’s role in the delivery suite. We will also look at coping mechanisms for dealing with stress within your pregnancy and early days at home with your baby. You will both then be invited to participate in a general relaxation hypnosis session which will boost your confidence and begin the journey of meeting and discovering your new baby. A relaxation CD will be issued for you both to use at home.
The second visit is for mum-to-be, where you will be taught the art of self-hypnosis and dealing with discomfort. Any other concerns such as fear of hospitals, needles, tokophobia (fear of giving birth), panic attacks, headaches, insomnia etc can be addressed at this session. A second CD will be given so that you can continue to practice the techniques at home.
This session deals with pre-childbirth and all the techniques to experience a wonderful birth. Built into the session is the possibility for you to be flexible in your approach if necessary, whilst still being able to feel in control. Two further CDs will be given for use on your labour day only.
